Welcome to Forest Fields Primary and Nursery School

The Character Curriculum

At Forest Fields Primary and Nursery, we believe it is so important that as well as learning academic skills, children learn to act with moral integrity, kindness and respect. We believe that they learn best when they can develop their personal, social and academic skills with a view to becoming a well-rounded citizen. 

 

At Forest Fields, we focus on a character trait every two weeks and learn about this in class and in whole- school assemblies. 

We try our very best to show this character trait and develop it as best we can. 

 

Our first trait was...

 

Self-Awareness

We learnt that to be self aware is to have an understanding of ones self- our strengths, weaknesses, habits, the things we like and dislike. We learnt that if we develop our self- awareness, we can learn how to best develop ourselves and how to handle certain situations. 

 

We have done lots of work on self awareness, one piece of which has been our self-awareness Acrostic poems... take a look at Safaraz's brilliant poem.

Breaking News! Book Fair on this week in school. We're doing lots of reading activities including book fair after school, book swops and competitions. READING MAKES YOUR WORLD BIG! GOOD NEWS! Book Start - This year is their 25th Anniversary and they have decided to present an award to the person who has promoted the reading of books through Book Start most effectively. We are winners! Well done to Mrs Khan and the Nursery team.
