Welcome to Forest Fields Primary and Nursery School

PE & Sport

On Thursday 6th October 2016, our school running club took part in the annual cross country relay event held at Colwick Park. Our children did the school proud, giving their all whilst competing against some tough competition. Well done to each of them and to Miss Amin and Mrs Wilson for coaching the children to such a high standard!no

Cross Country Event - Colwick Park 2016

On Thursday 7th July our Year 5/6 cricket team took part in the Teritex Cricket final. It was held at the Ellerslie Cricket club in West Bridgeford and was against St John's School who were from Worksop. The Teritex tournament was a City and County school competition and therefore the standard was very high.

Our boys not only played in the final, but after a very close and tense last over, they were triumphant!

At close of play, the final score was - St John's 264 and Forest Fields 268. As you can see, this was very close indeed. By all accounts, both teams displayed brilliant cricket throughout and entertained the spectators up until the very last ball was bowled.

A massive well done to, Issa, Bilal B (Captain), Aaquib C, Rehaan, Zain, Hasib, Ali, Alessio, Malyar and Fizaan! A super achievement and one that you should be very proud of.no

A big thank you and well done to Mrs Marks for running our school cricket club and coaching our boys to victory.

Teritex Cricket Final - 7th July 2016

On Tuesday 7th December our Year 6 football team played Mellors Primary School. Once again, they did the school proud by playing a brilliant passing game that helped ensure a 3 -2 victory, with the winning goal coming in the dying seconds! With 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, our boys have had a successful start to the season. There will now be a short break, with football commencing again sometime in February...weather permitting of course! A big thank you also to the coach, Mr Edwards, who is doing a fantastic job. smileyno
On Wednesday 2nd December 10 of our Year 3/4 children travelled to Ellis Guilford School to take part in a Dance Festival. The hall was packed with an eager audience and there were over 10 schools taking part. The standard was very high and Forest Fields rose to the challenge. They took to the stage at 4.50 pm and gave the performance of their lives. They did themselves and the school proud! Well done to each and everyone of them no
On Monday 12th October our Football team travelled to our new home venue at the Nottingham Forest Sports Zone. There they took on Scotholme in the first of our two scheduled meetings. It turned out to be a brilliant match in which our boys were triumphant! The final score was 7 - 0, with our goals being scored by Bilal D, Kemardo, Issa and Rehan. Well done boys. This was a fantastic effort!! no
On the 6th October, 10 of our children took part in a Tag Rugby Festival held at the Nottingham Moderns Rugby Club. There was a World Cup theme and all competitors received a free t-shirt that highlighted the team they were representing. Forest Fields were the USA! Our children were fantastic and considering that we have only just introduced the sport to the school, they did themselves proud, winning 4 out of the 6 games they played. Well done to each and everyone of them! smiley

Monday 5th October

Our football season got underway today and the boys played their socks off to earn a well-deserved draw 0 - 0, against local rivals St Marys. nono.

Well done boys!

Some of the children from our running club took part in a 'Fun Run' at Wollaton Park. The event was called 'Run for Fun' and is something that happens both nationally and world wide. There were over 500 children participating in the event, all of whom were given a lovely t-shirt as a keepsake. The sun shone throughout and each one of our children gave their all, in what turned out to be quite a demanding run. Well done to the children and staff of our school running club. no
