Friday 5th February

Today you are writing your last character description.  This time you are writing about the witch.  Remember all of those fabulous adjectives you thought of to describe the witch and try to use a different sentence opener and some conjunctions like 'and', 'but' and 'because' to add detail.  We are really enjoying reading your work!

Thursday 4th February

Yesterday you wrote some fabulous character descriptions using your adjectives and different sentence starters.  It was great to see how you did through the work emailed back to teachers.  Today you are having another go - this time writing a character description for Gretel.  Have a look at your Hansel description and think about how you could have made it even better?  Even more exciting.  Did you use good adjectives?  Did you use different and exciting sentence openers that made you want to read more?  Did you use conjunctions such as 'and', 'but' and 'because' to add more detail to your sentences?  Did you remember capital letters, finger spaces and full stops?  Maybe you could have added an exclamation mark if you wrote an exclamation sentence?  See if you can make your Gretel character description even better!!!  Can't wait to read them and maybe show them in our gallery of wonderful work on the school website!

Today you are going to be using your fabulous adjectives to write about Hansel.

Tuesday 2nd February

Today you are going to use the adjectives you thought of yesterday when you thought about the different characters in the story of Hansel and Gretel.  This time, you are going to write sentences to describe the characters but you are going to try and use different 'sentence openers' to make your sentences more interesting!

Today you are going to look more closely at the characters in the story. Who are the characters in Hansel and Gretel? Think of some adjectives to help you describe the characters. Will you use the same adjectives for them all?
